Background

The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has instituted a STUDENTS APPRECIATION DAY dubbed Vice-Chancellor's Students' Excellence Awards (VCSEA).

These awards aim to recognise students who have distinguished themselves in various aspects of student life at KNUST. The Fourth Edition seeks to reward outstanding student performances registered between 2024 and 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Important criteria you must meet to participate or be nominated

Enrolled & nominated
  • Must be currently enrolled as a FULL-TIME or PART-TIME student at KNUST.
  • Performance must correspond between the years 2024 and 2026.
  • Must explicitly agree to be nominated.
Good Standing

Must be in "good standing", meaning the student is free from any active investigation, query, suspension, or disciplinary action, and has paid their school fees in full.

Evidence & Validity
  • Must provide supporting evidence to nominators to back up the nomination.
  • Nominations are only valid for the year in which they are submitted and must be based on achievements between 2024 to 2026.
  • No individual can be nominated for multiple awards in any single category.
Note: The selection committee may choose to reassign a nomination to a different award category, based on the best fit with the evidence and with the nominee's explicit agreement.

Selection Process

How applications are administered, reviewed, and finalized

Screening

The Selection Panel receives and screens applications to ensure all requirements and criteria are met.

Evaluation

The Panel evaluates and scores suitable candidates using a pre-determined, standardized scoring system.

Award Ceremony

Finalists are celebrated and rewarded at the official Student Appreciation Day event.
